Odyssey No.21: College Randomosity

Wow the past week has been hectic as hell. Barely had the time to sleep at all! Well I guess it sucks to stay so far of campus, can't join the night activities :(

Anyway, I'll just kinda go through with what I did :)

14.01.2010

I went to Subang Jaya to get my college textbooks. Which is quite ridiculous considering I am studying in Nilai. Well, I went into my campus bookstore and couldn't find the books, turns out they were hiding it in a store room =_=", after I bought the books from Subang only realize that... Bummer!

Anyway, I explored INTI College Subang and also Taylor's UC. INTI Subang, so small la one building only ><... No campus feel at all leh, haha... And then Samson came and "smuggled" me into Taylor's UC where I met Wei Herng, Win Kee, Hui Yuin there too. Had a chat before Wei Herng showed me around. I do not mean to say this, but everything is mini-sized compared to INTI Nilai leh, how depressing you know! And the compound is small but they have tons of students, human traffic jam lol.

Then I kinda walked around while waiting for time top pass. Saw quite a huge food center down the street. Nice!

And they have quite a lot of facilities(expensive foods, mind you) there. But still, damn crowded la, the cars jam humans also jam. Can't imagine if I have to study here +_+

18.01.2010

My great friends made me celebrate my birthday XD. Well at first it was Zhi Lin who asked and then Natasya and then Jin Rui, then I kinda asked them to talk to each other and plan one celebration la. Three is just too much =.="

So yeah, was forced to celebrate by Nat and Zhi Lin. That day was already so tiring and then have to drive at night to Sg.Long Station One some more... Walau the eyes closing like nobody's business.

Anyway, it's AWESOME(because I'm easily satisfied :/). Kinda got messy when they started playing tho.

Chee Yern chose "Dare" and have to sing LOL!

Khai Chee and Samson rubbing noses.

Zhi Lin and Chee Yern imitating Madonna XD

Then I dunno from where they got this cake la, ice-cream punya. Luckily nobody tried to shove it in my face, or else sure damn dulan lol.

That cake, so hard until it broke the cutting knife. Haha. Imba ice-cream cake pwns knife ><.
Ah, not to mention one interesting thing happened. Jia Fuo who was driving Fui Chin to Sg.Long, ended up somewhere in Serdang, and then got his car rammed in the back which goes on to bang the car in front. I think they tried to settle the problem for quite a long time, in the end went to police station. Well, what can I say? Just another reason to laugh at him :PAnyway I have to say thanks to everyone who attended the dinner, had a fun time!

19.01.2010

I'm officially 18 on this day! :) . It's a rather normal day, I guess being 18 isn't really a big deal afterall :P.

Well, that night we had LEO Club and Adventure Club Gathering Night. I was at the venue too early LOL! The gathering starts at 7:30pm and I was there at 5:30pm! =_="

So what to do. Walk around and meet new peoples lor...

Took quite a few pictures of the set up but lazy to upload. They had all the old event banners up, Dr.Sia said it's their marketing strategy lol.

One of their banners.

Darren, VP of Adventure Club and Can Han, a regular of LEO Club.

And so, nothing much happened really. Some VIP gave their speeches, and then got some performances, and then makan, and then had some games where the objective is to get to know more peoples. But it's nice overall, I do have a sense of belonging here, can't wait for their next big event!

21.01.2010

The other day I was walking around and I noticed UN Club has set up a donation counter to collect donations for the Haiti earthquake victims. Me being busybody, I approached them and ask if they needed any help. And then the next day i was there helping out with the counter, with Karen the chairperson of UN club.

This was their counter. :)

Aftershock :O

These were the boxes. Donate and get a Hug :D

The guy from Green Knights helping out. He was standing on the bridge until we realized his shirt was putting off the donors XD

Yea it was fun, met a few new friends who were in my classes too. And I must say thanks to all the donors, especially those who took out RM50 notes and put it into the box :O. I myself I've only donated around RM5 , I dare say most of you out there are more generous than me :(.

Later that night I went for IMPAC gathering, IMPAC stands for INTI Music and Performing Arts Club.

Well, it's a simple one, not too flashy. We just had some speeches, food, and performances. I must say, although they do have a number of talented musicians, I still feel a little bit of disappointment. Their effort in gathering new members aren't that great, I only see a handful of new members, and most of them are beginners in guitar classes. Ah well, there are pros and cons for this situation which I will not elaborate.

So their performances were great! (For a small recital of course)

This session was performed by the chairperson(on the left) and his singer(dunno the name). Not too shabby, his playing style is folk fingerstyle. Like his guitar! XD

And then got a girl guitarist-cum-singer, which I did not have her photo. Quite pretty, but the most important thing is that she can play and sing lol. Talented, that's all I can say.

And then it was this group, Dr.Project from Indonesia. Cool bunch! They even played Jamie Cullum's "Mind Trick". Loved their performances!

The next session was Kevin and Seth, who played 4 songs. Seth is the guitar instructor in IMPAC while Kevin is the drums instructor. I have to say they are pretty awesome too!

Crap every performance is good to me, this must indicate that I'm still not very good haha... Nevermind, I think I'mma pick up some guitar lessons from Seth soon since he had offered to teach me personally :) . Just have to find time!

.Phew, that's about what happened for the last two weeks. Busy life I must say! Kinda regret not staying there haha, so I can't wait for the next semester when I will move in! Not to mention Natasya in moving in also. Wee~

Next up will be about the COP15 sharing we had at Sunway-UC. Will try to find time to blog about it ASAP! XD

Till next time, cheers~

Haiti Earthquake and The Rise of Fucktards

.

Hey guys, first of all, sorry if my post title sounded a bit too offensive, but I have no choice but to use the most accurate word of description here to vent out my anger towards this recent inhumane remarks I heard.
Let me start by apologizing to anyone who would have expected me to follow the Haiti earthquake news closely. I'm sorry I didn't, I was too engrossed with my college assignments and also another recent controversy here in Malaysia on the "Allah" word usage. In fact I was about to write a post on that topic but this incident leapfrogged the priority list.

My condolences to the Haitians who lost their loved ones in the massive earthquake. Although I cannot possibly understand what the victims might feel now, I will still surely grieve for their losses, the estimated 200,000+ peoples there that perished in that disaster.

Now... To move on to the main point of this post. First of all, let me introduce to you the F***tard in the title that I was referring to...

Meet Pat Robertson, a Televangelist whose job is to use the television to communicate the Christian faith.

Shortly after the earthquake in Haiti, he made it on news channel in the States and gave very inhumane, cold-blooded comments on that eventful disaster.

Here's the video where he gave his remarks:

So what did he really said?

Here's what he said in that video, in two separate sections:
"The earthquake might be a blessing in disguise, there might be a massive rebuilding of that country."
"The Haitians made a pact with the Devil long time ago to drive out the French, they are cursed forever afterwards."

Here's what he really meant for each sentence respectively:
"It's good news that the earthquake happened, they're screwed anyway and they needed to rebuild their poor country."
"Serves them right, this is God's punishment on them for defying God's will and serving the Devil."

And don't tell me he doesn't mean that! I swear he did and he did not even have the slightest sympathy for the victims of the earthquake. Bullshit!

Here's a video on the reaction towards Pat Robertson's comments:

Boy, that guy there was pretty pissed. I would if I were him too!

So in Haiti we have little girls like this one who lost their loved ones in that earthquake, suffering immense mental and even physical pain now.

And somewhere up north in the US we have F***tards like this guy saying," In your face you muthafuckas, you truly deserves it!"

I can't help but to wonder, WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING TO THIS WORLD?

Till next time, cheers~

Odyssey No.20: Zooriffic 6

.

ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~!!

Phew, been busy lately, half a month without posting!!! How did that happened LOL! Gonna explain in my next post. :)

Anyway, last Sunday, Raleigh KL organized a trip to zoo, but not go there to play punya. We have to go there to work as volunteers, help out the zoo operation. Many interesting stuffs happened XD, we'll go through them one by one of course.

Early that morning I woke up at 5am! :O

Quite gila, I know. The event starts at 7:30am, so I have to wake up that early to take the train to Wangsa Maju, since Malaysian public transport sucks a lot ma.

After waiting for an hour, Minyi arrived to pick me up to go to the train station. But the next train is arriving at 7:10am!!! Damn intense since we've planned to reach there by 7:30am haha. So we decided to drive there lo, don't care eco-friendly or not =_=". Called up Zhi Lin early in the morning to ask for directions haha, sorry bro :P

And so Minyi drove all the way to National Zoo, WITHOUT GOING TO THE WRONG DIRECTION! First time ever! XD

See, all smiles :D

And Kevin who was driving another car with Jin Rui, Natasya and Daniel inside, nearly went to Perak because Natasya was directing LOL! They ended up reaching the zoo at 8:45am something, I heard the coordinator was pissed hmm...

The banner.

So we gathered for a short briefing and the distribution of works. Got "dragged" by the organizer Evinn Soo to the elephants section T.T ... Together with me was Kenny.

Rawrz~!

Well, first of all, we were tasked to collect the elephant poops in the exhibit XD. You guys are lucky I can't use camera while scooping craps LOL!

Anyway, after that we did the same to the giraffes. It's not too bad compared to the elephants. And I've discovered a few facts about them.
  • Their poops are like tiny chocolates.
  • Their pee stinks like nobody's business.
  • Their tongues are very long.
  • They eat whole banana combs.
  • They screw any giraffes of the opposite sex (I guess this applies to most other animals too)
Hmm... The giraffes are fun, unlike the elephants, which are too dangerous to hang around near them.

Here's one of the giraffes.

This is Kenny, my partner for that section.

Zookeeper was feeding the giraffes.

We got to feed them too.

Bananananas

Then we climbed up a platform to clean the place. Get to play with the giraffes too!

Bow. I said bow to thy Lord!

Kenny showing off his giraffe flirting skills.

Let's check out what the other peoples from our gang were doing...

Sweeping the kangaroo exhibit :)

Cooking :O

(Sorry to say that I can't find the pictures of Nat, Jin, Kev and/or Daniel working... Will try to search again :P)

p.s.: They were sweeping the floor somewhere near the chimps.

BREAK TIME!

Group photo already haha...

Polly wantz a krackerz!

Bambi? Babi la =.="

Caught this little thing sleeping, so cute XD

Makan! Jin and Kev.

Enthusiastic dao! XD

After lunch break got back into sweeping again, then went to clean the pony stable.

Fuyoh like real!

Then we went to the office to move some tables for some supervisor. Damn heavy leh, like a bloody piece of solid metal.

We were moving fine until we entered the supervisor's office and were passing a narrow pathway. Then all the sudden moved too fast the table hit Kenny's middle finger against the wall. Instant ecstasy LOL! Blood sprayed everywhere like a fountain (exagerrated). The workers quicky gave him first aid and diagnosed the problem.

See, kena already still so happy ><

He was then sent to a nearby medical center to have it checked and get an injection. Ouch, so much for volunteering :/

Me:"6 antibiotics per day ah? :O"

Pretty scary huh...

And so out sessions ended at 4:30pm. Met up with the others and then took a tram ride around the zoo XD

Nothing much to see tho, just enjoying the comfort of NOT walking :D

Then got group photos of course. But lazy want to find where is it, so gonna put a couple only :P

C.K., Evinn, Marble from Raleigh KL.

Minyi, Jin Rui, Mr.Tall, Natasya.

After the event, we all wanted to go to PJ to have Japanese steamboat. Somewhere along the road some disaster happened hmm... Kevin somehow lost his way even though they left first LOL! In the end the plan was abandoned and I drove Minyi's car all the way back to Kajang to have dinner at Metro Point. The funny part is they settled for McDonald's because they lost their way and couldn't go back on track, while I'm already a few kilometres away from the comfort of home XD. Sorry la guys, couldn't go home that late ma, maybe next time :)

So overall that was an awesome day!!! It granted me some insight into a zookeeper's life, which is quite interesting! But too bad their pays aren't too fancy :/

This event helped me learn a lot, and made some new interesting connections. Really looking forward to Zooriffic 7 and any other activities organized by Raleigh now that I know what they do. :D

Till next time, cheers~

2009 In Review

.
Bye Bye 2009~

Hello 2010~!

Hey guys I wish you a Happy New Year!

So for this post I'm going to write what's my 2009 is all about, the fun, exciting and unforgettable events of the year!

Of course let's start by reviewing my resolution for last year and how many of those did I achieved:

1. Winning the MSSS championship for good. - Failed to win the tournament as I was placed 12th in the tournament.

2. Scoring A for Chinese subject. - The best score for the paper was 67%... So yeah, I didn't achieve this as well.

3. Buy a good acoustic guitar costing about 400-600. - Nope, didn't buy an acoustic guitar because my parents wouldn't let me LOL!

4. Compose a full song. - I've finished 3 songs, got around 3 more still in progress! That's one! :)

5. Buy a DSLR. - Wish abandoned haha. Really can't afford to spend my money on this luxury item.

6. Quit DotA and TW by July. - Did this by June. That's two! :)

7. Performing in school at least 3 times. - Did a whooping 6 times! Woohoo! And another 3 outside the school means I did 9 performances last year, cool that's more than my previous gigs added together! :D . That's three! :)

8. Take up Violin lessons. - Nope, decided that the next instrument I shall learn is Saxophone.

9. Shoot 70+ in a golf round. - I forgot how many rounds of 70+ I played this year, probably just 2 or 3. I do remember though that I achieved this target in February during the MSSDHL @ UNITEN where I shot 78

10. Being desperately in love with someone. - Nope, didn't happened, though there were some "turbulences".

Haha I only achieved 4 out of the 10!

Now to the interesting stuffs happened to me last year! Luckily I documented all the events with the Odyssey series posts. Let me have a summary of each and everyone of the events!

Classmates were piled up at the computer booth to play Counter-Strike HAHA! My congratulations to them for winning 2nd place in the competition, refer to here for their side of the story :)

Odyssey 5

Odyssey 15
Went to Midvalley with Zhi Lin for the short meeting for the Dance for the Planet Flash Mob. Met up with Minyi, Natasya, Jin Rui and William over there. Did some funny rehearsals :D. That's all for the Odyssey Series.

Also, I have another series in this blog which I share some of my featured photos.

Lazy to write all out LOL but you can find every post of my Photography Session Series HERE!
