Odyssey No.6 - Highways, Off-beat Jazz, and Screamers

Tonight was one of the craziest night I've been through :D

Me, Xin, Zhi Lin, Jia Fuo decided to go to USCI to watch a modern band jazz concert which starts at 8:00p.m.. Our transportation? Bus and impromptu transportation.

At 6p.m. I met with with Xin at Kajang McDonald's before having our dinner in Metro Plaza. Then lepak until 7p.m. before Zhi Lin and Jia Fuo came to town. Waited for around 5 minutes for the U40 bus. Damn it was crowded, but nevermind, we've got no choice anyway. An uncle came to me and sold me the bus ticket for RM1, at least that made up for the cramped bus =_=

It took around 45 minutes to reach our next stop, which was at Cheras Leisure Mall.

Walking to the bus stop to wait for bus or taxi.

Then we waited for something to take us to UCSI, be it taxi or bus. It was a long wait, and most taxis don't go to UCSI. Talk about crappy-ness.

KL is beautiful at night by the way. :)

Finally got a taxi that can take us there after half an hour of waiting, cost us RM5, but we have 4 person, fair enough I think.
We rushed to the main building and ran our way to the auditorium. We were almost half an hour late for the show but made it just in time as they are starting to play another song.

The run to the building XD My first impression was...WOW!The concert was brilliant, I'd never imagine that those college students can produce performance of such quality.

Some highlights:

The trumpet, alto sax, and 2 tenor saxs quartet.

The Tenor Saxs

Trumpeteer giving a blowjob :X

All action, rawrz~!

Tell you one thing, honestly, the alto saxophone player is very handsome and talented. If I'm a girl I'll surely fall in love with him LOL!  But meh, I'm not gay. He wears ear ring though.

I recognize this guy as an employee in Cheras Guitar Store, couldn't believe my luck that I'll see him here :D He's the one who attended me when I wanted to buy a guitar pickup for my classical guitar.

This guy is a very insane guitarist, especially in jazz style guitar.

Female bassist, IMBA!

One of my favourite performer for the night, because she plays violin :)    p.s. I'm sure all Yellowcard fans like violin.

There was a lot more performers but the dark lighting caused me to take less pictures than usual, and of course photos of poorer quality.

Overall I can say that this performance is very solid, the jazz songs are mesmerizing, and metal rocks are insane and there were some funny funny stuffs too, such as songs with lame lyrics and melodies LOL! There was a song where the lyrics was "Let the body hit the floor", it sounds like "Let the body sweep the floor" when the guy sang it XD

The trumpeteer was also the singer for some songs, and man he screams like the guy in Linkin Park, must've hurt a lot to do that, I mean if I would to do that, expect me to be mute for the upcoming week.

The performance ended at 10p.m. Phew, and my ears hurt a lot, but it's worth it I'd say :D

This concludes my day and another day of odyssey. Till next time, cheers~

Odyssey No.5 - Sports Day and Prom Night?

Today is the annual sports day of SMJK YuHua, and this year it's held in Bangi sports complex instead of Stadium Kajang.  It's many times better than Stadium Kajang in my opinion, except the fact that it's very far away =_=. The Photography Team took bus from the school to the complex.
Nothing much to talk about Sports Day, it's the same old thing year after year :) ... So I'll let my pictures to the talking.

This brilliant photo taken by my digital camera, who saids you need an SLR to produce good picture? XD

The main building housing the VIPs and spectators.

Two similar photos, different feel.

Charlie's Angel: Hwa, Xuan, Ying

Wei Herng:"You and whose army?"

The prizes for grabs *Drools*

The oath of sportsmanship.

I went to the long jump section to take pictures for most of the morning. So these are the pictures. (It's a bit lousy I know, I admit SLR beats digital compact for sports photos)*Arrgh!*

Tortoise knows how to jump. *Shocked :O*

Leaping across Sahara Desert.

Xuan posing :)

The busiest stall in the stadium. Wait, it's the only stall in the stadium =_="

====================================================================

After the whole event I met up with Fui Chin and "the others" (no offense for not mentioning your names but Fui Chin's the one who ajak me XD) . So it's about a meeting to organize a prom night for 2009 Form 5 students in December, somewhere between 21st to 23rd. It sounded like fun, and I'll be in charge of the live band session, Hoorah?

Fuyoh~ Fui Chin, why so serious?
So we discussed on how should we organize this prom night, they decided that we give Oriental Crystal Hotel a try as a venue. And so the whole gang went to the hotel to ask the details of hall rental and stuffs.

They have efficient workers LOL! As soon as we asked the attendant at the counter a "Tour Guide" was assigned to help us with the details. He showed us the biggest ballroom, then a tiny one, and another one open rooftop with swimming pool(which was my favourite)

Waiting for someone to attend.

We haven't decide which but I think the ballroom should suit the event the best, with a stage and a big area for dancing. The ballroom.
Ah well, it's still in planning stage for now. But I hope everyone will give their support for this prom night to make it successful. Any suggestions and ideas would be appreciated too :)

Coming Up...Odyssey No.6. Stay tuned.

Odyssey No.4 - Carnival de la Boringness

Prologue: Hospital KPJ

Yesterday Song Guang, Thomas and me went to KPJ after school to visit Ee Von who was in the hospital after getting dengue.

We went there to disturb here LOL! But she's getting better if anyone's asking, as silly and cheerful as usual, doesn't look like she had fever or something =_=

This was her being interviewed by some peoples from Jabatan Kesihatan.

===================================================================

Our class was forced to go a carnival at Kolej Universiti Islam Selangor today. It has something to do with "Kerjaya Remaja" or something, I forgot what's the occasion LOL! It starts at about 8:00a.m. and ends at 5:00p.m. :O

Anyways we don't have a choice, it's either we go there or we ponteng sekolah. So our class boarded the bus at around 8:30a.m. for our destination. The view in the bus, I can't believe that most of us attended today even though we were reluctant to go a day ago.

The ride was bumpy since I was sitting behind. About 45 minutes later, we reached our destination. Can't believe the size of the university compound. It's quite huge.

This was Khai Chee playing a prank on Jia Fuo :)

I brought my camera along of course. Took some pictures of the buildings.

After we took our breakfast we went into the main convention hall. Saw most of them gathered at a booth right at the entrance. And guess what are they looking at?That's right. There's a row of PC there just for others to play LOL! And there were some Malay kids playing Counter-Strike Source +_+ ... Really zadou. Our "Hou Gor" was the first to get a place to play. They were bullying the kids =_=

Zai Hao in "Sapu mode" XD

Beh tahan them. At school PC lab play, come here also play =_=

So me, Zhi Lin, and Xin went around to see the other events. Got my camera out for more pictures :D

The bamboo version of the Korean walkway of trees XD

Introducing our model of the day, Xin.

Random picture.

We finally found something interesting though. There was a drama competition in an auditorium. And our school's participating too (I didn't know about that). So we went in and found ourselves some place to sit. The dramas are, quite, if at all, interesting (because that's the best thing we can find for ourselves to do). There was some funny ones, some boring ones, some lame ones, none I saw was brilliant +_+, but I've only seen like 3 and a half performance so it's not for me to judge. I was sitting too far away from the stage that I can't take a good picture. So bear with the picture quality. Here are some photos. This drama was already halfway through when I entered the auditorium. But it has something to do with a family of Datuk and Datin dealing with a crazy daughter, and they hired a bomoh who screwed her up even more, and then a doctor came for the rescue. Didn't know the whole story though.

This drama talked about male and female equality, or it seems. A gang of cyclist was riding around, one guy got his bike stucked and asked for help, another laughed at him for being a sissy, and blah blah blah, I didn't know what are they talking about since I can't listen clearly. Then came an uncle who's bike is broken, and a girl fixed it for him, then blah blah blah again. The funny part is when the motorbike prop dropped it's back wheel when the "Apek" rode it away from the scene, the whole auditorium went hysterical :D

This drama sets in a warung kopi. Talks about the recent economy and recessions. Quite funny + lame.  I like the Mamak a lot, funny how he acts like a pro.

The next one raised some question marks. I don't even know what is the drama about. Starts with an anchor reporting for some TV station, then went to a field reporter reporting in a lab with three noob scientists mixing water colours.

They managed to enlarge a chicken by 500% with just water colours OMG!

I took a break for lunch after the last one, and went back to the auditorium after that. Then this drama started

This one raised more question marks. I don't even know what are they talking about. Has something to do with archeology though.

After this we went out of the auditorium to take a group photo before going home at 1:00p.m.

My last photo at KUIS before I proceed to the next part. Guess who's this?

Haha...Minyi was there, Jia Fuo "fa qiao"/ naik miang the whole day LOL!====================================================================Made Made it to school just in time to catch Pn. Lin Lee Fong going out with zzLoo to buy new PC for Photography Society.

Went to  a computer shop at Jalan Reko to buy the PC. Overall it's not a bad one for RM1000+, technology gadgets now adays are getting cheaper. I just hope that this PC will not become another gaming PC in school XD

This was Thomas with his noob face on in the shop.

So that's today for me. Signing off for now.

Till then , Cheers~
